Project Overview: The project aims to enhance pedestrian facilities and walkability along Clifton Country Road, Clifton Park’s “Main Street” in the Town Center area, from its intersection with NYS 146 south to its intersection with Clifton Park Center Road.
Proposed improvements include crossing enhancements, multi-use paths, sidewalks, and pedestrian signals.

Preliminary Design Authorization: Completed on June 9, 2022
ROW Mapping with temporary and permanent construction easements secured: 75% complete
Final Design Submission complete September 4, 2025
(PS&E): - Plans, Specifications, and Estimate for Spring of 2026
Construction Letting: Tentatively scheduled for September 2026
Recent Developments:
ROW Takings: Detailed property appraisals are being conducted to determine fair market value for ROW takings. Negotiations with property owners will use these appraisals to initiate conversations
Legal Documentation: The Town will ensure all legal documentation and compensation agreements comply with federal and state regulations
Preliminary Design Comments: Received from NYS DOT, allowing ROW acquisitions to proceed, while advancing final design drawings
The Final Design Report: Received technical approval from NYS DOT on 8/28/2025.
Public Open House Workshop
A Public Open House Workshop was conducted on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Clifton Park Town Hall (Wood Room) and was well attended by members of the community.
