Public Meeting Conducted June 24, 2026.

The Town of Clifton Park hosted public workshop on proposed improvements to the Route 146 intersections at Tanner/Miller Road and Waite Road.
These high-conflict intersections may be converted to single-lane roundabouts to improve safety and reduce delays.

70 people signed in during the session and offered 46 written comments that the Town's consulting team is working to summarize for review and consideration as design plans advance to a final development stage.

Project Overview

This project focuses on improving traffic flow and safety at two key intersections along Route 146:

  • RT146 at Miller Road & Tanner Road
  • RT146 at Waite Road

The primary objective is to develop a design report for constructing single-lane roundabouts at each intersection. These improvements aim to reduce delays for side street traffic and enhance overall safety for all roadway users.

Project Scope

  • Develop detailed plans, specifications, and estimates (PSE) for design alternatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend roundabout configurations to improve intersection performance and safety.

Project Funding

  • Total Funding: $500,000 (Design Only)

Project Timeline & Key Milestones

MilestoneStatus
Kickoff MeetingCompleted – July 2024
Survey Fieldwork & Geotechnical TestingCompleted – Fall 2024
Draft Design DocumentUnder Review – May 2026
Final PSE DeliveryScheduled – October 2026
