The Clifton Park Town Board awarded the Hubbs Road Path construction contract on August 4, 2025 to lowest responsible bidder, Carver Construction, to begin work on building a new path and new crosswalks connecting neighborhoods in northern Clifton Park to Jonesville and the existing pedestrian network. Residents in Dutch Meadows and Country Knolls will be able to connect more readily to the Longkill Road sidewalks, allowing them to reach nearby conveniences and parks. This new 0.6-mile path will help grow the more than 20 miles of trail connections across the community. Construction began in September 2025, with substantial completion achieved by the end of November 2025. The remaining 10% of construction activities will resume and be completed in 2026 once winter weather shutdown conditions are lifted.
This public pedestrian infrastructure project is possible due to the Town's $278,271 award from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Climate Smart Communities Program (through the state's Environmental Protection Fund). The Town of Clifton Park is a Participating Community in New York State's Climate Smart Communities Program (since 2009). The Town earned its Bronze Certification in the Climate Smart Communities Program on April 17, 2025, with support from the Clifton Park Town Board, the Town's Climate Smart Community Task Force, and the Town's GREEN Committee.
